Hey Arcanarum,

So, naturally, we have come to the end. It’s now time for your characters to fight once more, but they are able to use all of their powers freely. The minions are going to be harder to get rid of this time; The Unknown continues to fuel them with the spirits of the previous denizen’s they have killed. Not only that, but they become strong off the fear of those around them, including their own fear.

Starting on July 19, The World will explain there is only one-way for you to get home. The Unknown was meant to kill her, not The Fool. Though she thought he knew that, he wanted to give her more of a chance to accept her fate, as she was afraid to die. The World says they will have to fight and while she knows she’s asking too much of them again, she will send you home upon her death, as it will release the remainder of her power.

July 22-29: You will be fighting. There will obviously be a log, which will be player run, mostly. The mods will, schedules permitting, attempt to tag occasionally with the minions to keep it going.

July 31-August 2: The World will be killed on July 31, but your characters will be stuck in a sort of limbo until August 2. This will be the times to say goodbye to those you know, and you will find out that upon leaving Arcanarum, you will have no memory of being there. It will seem like a far off memory, or maybe the warmth you get from hearing your favorite story…either way…you will be told one more thing by the World, and you will be sent home!

Last but not least, we all wanted to let you know how grateful we are for making this game what it is and was. We know you all have had to put up with us being late on tags and such, which we do apologize for, but we are happy that you all enjoyed Arcanarum until the end. Thank you all for the things you have done and please continue to be safe and kind. Even the darkest of times can be the most beautiful, if you allow them to be!

I know I haven't been very active, even though I wanted to. There were a lot of problems, including health ones.

Now, tomorrow I'm going on a trip to Spain and I'll be back in the end of July, probably 26.

I had a blast here, but he just never seemed to fit in or get the activity that I wanted, which was probably my fault for being slow and allowing other things to distract me, and things in real life are just getting busier and more crazy with a job change and medical issues of my family and that.

EVENT: June 7-July 1

First Event: June 7-July 1

The doors placed in your rooms have begun to shake, starting on June 7. Behind them, if you have gone in them, the lands of the fairy tale you are replacing are under attack by shadows. It seems that they are killing the lands. You attempt to get inside, to help, but you are blocked by some force field. That same day, someone speaks to you, in a sinister voice. It says that the fate of this world has now been determined. Darkness starts to cover the land, quickly over the next few days, seemingly coming from the doors of the fairy tale worlds.

On the inside, you’re feeling really nervous. On June 12, you will be placed in a trance and you will end up the world of your denizen’s. Now, you will be experiencing something different; The memories of each world as this shadow took over them. You don’t heard the words of the inhabitants, but sometimes, you’ll notice them saying “they don’t believe” or “it’s fear”. You start to feel the changes of your denizen taking control when there is a bright light. Forcefully, you are removed from the world, but with the majority of your Denizen’s physical traits. There is a male voice calling to you, now, that tells you to get to the castle immediately, because something has happened.

When you arrive, the Fool and The World are waiting for you, and she is looking very weak. He’s barely holding her up, despite looking exhausted himself. The World explains, quickly that there is something wrong with The Rulers. Though you may not want to help, she begs you to help them.

Upon entering the castle, the Emperor and Empress are waiting, but their eyes are completely black. They seem to be acting like their normal selves, but something heavy sits in the air. Suddenly, the minions pop up and you’re called to fight. All this happens on June 19. However, you seem to have more power then the minions and for once, you defeat them easily. It isn’t until you turn on the Emperor and Empress that you realize the shadows come from them. The World seems ready to fight, but something takes all the air out of the room for a moment, and it seems like time stops.

The events of what happens after this point will be detailed in the event itself, so in actuality, we can’t give you any more spoilers. However, at the end of this event, all your powers and items will be regained, but you will have to fight off minions that are even stronger then before. You are left with control of the castle, but the minions are destroying the island.

So, to detail this by day change:

June 7, 10 and 12: You are taken into the world of your denizen, and the events of destruction happen there. Not only that, but when you come back out on the 12, you have the majority of your denizen’s physical traits.
June 14 and 17: Talking to the World and the Fool before you fight the minions. They detail some of the past events for you, but not all.
June 19, 21 and 24: Fighting the minions and leading up to events that will have you take control of the castle and acquire all your items.
June 26, 28 and July 1: Even though you have control of the castle, the island is being destroyed. NPCs are being killed by the minions, homes…everything.

Turns out I'll be rather busy this summer, and with my RP drive feeling a little low I would like to just take a break before I strain myself and end up ruining my motivation completely. Either way, I'll be gone for the month, so see you all in July!

Hello again, Arcanarum!

It’s very hard for me to write this. Very hard. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and observation over the past few weeks and trying to assess the state of the game. In all honestly, I’m afraid to admit that Arcanarum has run its course. I’ve spent a year and a half (almost two now) on being the head mod of this game. I’ve never had a dull moment, but I realized in the past few months that being the mod of a game has started to become a chore. I promised myself when I started this game that if I ever started to feel that way, I would gracefully bow out, and honestly, it’s gotten to that point. I know this is going to disappoint a lot of you. I cannot tell you how long I’ve agonized over the mere thought of upsetting any of you. I care very deeply for everyone I’ve met here at Arcanarum. The friendships I’ve made have made me a stronger, better person and I can’t thank you all enough for that. I can never replace the times I’ve had here.

There are many other factors that are leading into this, not just the current state of how I’m feeling regarding moderating. We are struggling to stay afloat at this point, regardless of the changes we’ve made, and we are in a very competitive RP market now. It’s not like it used to be; Games are popping up everywhere now, regardless of if they are public or private, making it hard for an older game like Arcanarum to stay open. However, being open for almost two years and being a fairly steady game speaks miles for its players as well as the content. I really am proud to be a part of this and say that I was the one who brought people such good times.

This doesn’t mean I’m just going to up and close the game without any type of closure. There will be two more events, detailing the end of the game, in June and July. There will be no more applications nor reserves allowed in game, and there will be no activity checks. I’ll be posting information about them very soon. I’ll try my best to make sure nothing is crammed in too tight and that some of the questions about the past are answered.

Again, I give my sincere apologies to those I’ve disappointed. I do love Arcanarum, but I love the game enough to let it go before it becomes something I or anyone else resents. I want only good memories to come from this game, not frustrating or bad ones. I truly love every single one of you, beary much!!

EVENT: MAY 6-22

Hello Arcanarum!

As you know, this coming Monday we are starting the new aspects of the game! What does this mean? Well first, it means there will be no day change this coming Sunday, since we are going to MWF for the day changes. Additionally, we are going to be having an EVENT. It’s pretty small and simple, given that we haven’t had one in awhile. It’ll take place May 6-22. That’s about 8 in game day changes, but it’s a very simple events. The fairy tale we are going to use this time is Peter Pan and we are also going to bring the doors into the event as well.

Yeeeeeow, that was an unexpected leave from my home and any wifi. I had a family emergency that I thought would be shorter and less exciting than it ended up being. It's not over yet, but it's quieted down enough that I should be able to start tagging back/tagging in soon. If that proves to be false, I wanted to at least let those waiting on tags know why and no, I am not dropping tags, I'm just busy with out of state family things.

IMPORTANT MOD POST: Signifcant Game Changes Ahead!

Hey Everyone!

This is Kuma again. Since it’s April, I’ve decided to look over the suggestions provided by you all. I really enjoyed reading them and it did give me insight to what we need to do for all of you and the game. I appreciate all the comments greatly and even though we can’t fit everything in to the game, we have decided to work on what we CAN fit. Here is a list detailing what is going to change in the next few months:

Day Changes: We realize that right now, we have two in game days per one real-life week. We are going to be changing that to THREE in game days per one real-life week. This will make the pace of the game only slightly faster, but also give us more wiggle room to provide you time during the events. This means events will be longer, but have more substance to them. This will start on May 6 and the day changes will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Applications will be accepted as we get them and they are voted on by the mod team. I'm considering the idea of adding more mods as we have had some drops, but that will wait until school is out and I can focus a little bit more.

Fairy Tale Aspects: We realize that this game has been heavily leaning on the Arcana aspects and it was suggested to bring in more of the fairy tale aspect. Starting also on May 6, the island will begin to have slow transformations. Within the districts, Doors will begin to appear inside your rooms. These doors will lead you to the world of your story. During some events and when you die, you will be sent to this world, the origin world of your denizen. . However, given that this is something that we are adding, there is a price to it. For every time you go through the door, the more traits you have added on to you. If you are sent there because you died during an event, you will have one trait of your choice added to your character automatically. The doors themselves are only within the district the denizen lives in (inside their room), and have a shape of something important to that story (Like the Rose from Beauty and the Beast, or the Lantern from Disney’s Rapunzel). Think of the trees in the Nightmare before Christmas, that symbolizes the holidays? It’s a lot like that, but the doors are in your rooms, on the wall!

Upon entering these doors, you will notice that there is no one in the story and that the lands are dark and kind of desolate. This is important to remember when you go into them, as it will be used later on in the plot. The more you investigate, the more you notice that it seems like everyone was taken from the worlds of the fairy tale stories.

Events/Plot: The big events, meaning the Regains, will now be every 6 months, real time. This doesn’t mean we won’t have events, just the big, plot heavy events will be fewer and far between. This means that when we do have them, they will be longer and more detailed than before. We are going to be also making a post for the people who join up after these events to catch them up on what is going on OOCly, like a “while you were gone...” thing.

As for the other events, each small event will have a log attached to it in some way. This means we will have a log for everyone to join into and be able to post on, so you don’t feel like you have to post on the network.

Information: We will be making a new, sparkly post for you all. Currently, we have no way to know when things happen (NPCs getting killed, characters burning houses down, etc.) other then you making us aware of them. This isn’t really fun for anyone, because who wants to do something crazy then not get punished for it? So, we will be making a punishment post that you will comment to with the offense your character has done and we will give you a detailed description of your punishment. You have no control over deciding your punishment, but it will be related to a fairy tale!

For now, that’s all I have! I’m so glad that we can all work together to really make this game shine, so I’m hoping to have things updated and pretty before we move on to the next stage! I also want to remind you to please contact us any time with any concerns you have! Our contact post is stickied everywhere on the communities, so our information is easily accessible! Additionally, a few of the mods are heading into the end of our semesters at school, so please be advised that things will be slow during the end of April and beginning of May!

Sorry guys, I haven't been able to make activity for Scott or muse him in a while. I'm torn up about it but I figure it isn't fair for me to squat on a character I'm not doing well with anymore, so I'm freeing up Scott.

Maybe he'll be back sometime post next season :c and maybe i'll be back later with another character.

And hello Arcanarum! I've heard your teenaged bitchy genius levels have been dangerously low. Enter Lydia Martin from Teen Wolf, played by a new player! She'll be taking the place of Princess Elizabeth from Paper Bag Princess, a cute little book about a princess rescuing a prince. Lydia herself is very smart, very interested in mathematics, and very self-absorbed. She's also pretty shaken up by this point, as the events of season two have happened so she's had her brain tossed around a bit.

Hello!

I'm totally-new-to-the-game-Hotaru, bringing in a tiny (well between 8 and 12) Fran from after the end of the Katekyo Hitman Reborn! manga. He's the disciple of Rokudo Mukuro and the annoyance of all in his canon.

He's gotten a role in the story about that naked king, you know, The Emperor's New Clothes. He's a Pretend Weaver, and it's not a role he's completely unsatisfied with. Messing with people is in the job discription after all.

Either way, he lives in the Rose district, in the 6th unit, and this far, he lives aaaall alone, which might just be good for the other residents. It doesn't mean that he won't come on a sudden visit in some other district, though.

I have a IC contact thingy set up in Fran's journal and it's linked on the profile, I also have a permissions post up, with two small questions. aka, can he anonymously mess with your character and can he fourth-wall them?

Feel free to add me on plurk, where I'm gekifire ~~and trying to get active again~~.

I figure I might as well go on a hiatus right now because life has thrown me so many lemon grenades that it's no longer funny. I have to go defuse them all and I also need some time to recuperate and get back into the spirit of tagging, so I'm going to be gone for about a month.

Hey Arcanarum!

This is the Head Mod, Kuma. As of late, and I’m sure you’ve all noticed the game has taken a slower turn in activity. While we have been providing events, we’ve noticed a lack of interest and time constraints for everyone. Given that I’ve always tried to make this game about you guys, I wanted to seek out your opinions. I currently am very busy in my real life, so I’ve kind of let the game slip through my fingers and for that, I apologize. I should have prioritized my time a little better, but with a different job that doesn’t have set hours like my last one did, I don’t have much time to work with. I’m going to be taking a break from school, so that will definitely help me in the long run, but that isn’t going to help at the present time.

This post is for suggestions. What do you guys think we need to do to make the game more interesting again? Anything we should change? My main concern is that this game has become stagnant and there may be a possibility that we can’t really compete in the role-play market anymore. There are many new games popping up and it’s very hard to keep a small game open under those circumstances.

I’d like any kind of suggestion you guys are willing to give, and I will try to see how it will fit in the games dynamic. Unfortunately, we do have to consider the fact that, given the size of the game, we may not be able to continue to have Arcanarum open. I’m going to leave this post open until the beginning of April to see what kind of suggestions we receive. I do not want to close the game by any means, trust me. Arc has given me something I can never, ever replace, and that’s all of you, but it’s time to really consider the future of the game, not just for the mod team, but for all of you as well! I want this to be a fun place for you all to play, and continue to be so in the coming months!

I'd thought of trying to bring in a second character to help me get my motivation back, but the more I think about it the more I think it's not the muse, it's the game. It's just... not fun anymore, and that's killing my motivation for my other tags.

EVENT TIME

Ready for the holidays as presented by the Rulers, denizens?

Too bad!

Round 2 of the Rulers' horrific sense of humor when it comes to Christmas is going to be starting today, and ending March 13. This means that the in-game dates will be December 22 to December 27, and will include Christmas itself. Early in the morning of the 22nd, the Fool will further decorate the Island, making it even more festive-- trees in every home, tinsel and ornaments on every pine, wreaths and holly and mistletoe everywhere, and even candles to light the night. A peace offering, much like the fireplaces had been earlier in the month when he gave them to the residents. There's nothing he can do outright without being outed as being nice, so he'll at least make your holidays a little cheerier.

Unfortunately for everyone, not just him, Justice and Judgement are going to use his kindness against him. The Wheel spins, and gives us the Tower, turning everything slowly into chaos. It'll be a slow build over the next few days, but soon you'll find yourselves dealing with fires all across Arcanarum. There's very little that you can do, by the end, when the fires are so widespread and stubborn.

By the end of it, the Island will be in shambles. The World can't give everyone presents as she had earlier in the month, but at least she can assist and rebuild your homes-- and, if you died during the event, she will revive you a day early. (Meaning you're only 'dead' for one day, rather than two.)

When the event is over, your characters will have one mental trait from their denizen.

Welcome to another Activity Check! All activity from December 2-February 24 is fair game. Anyone who does not respond to the check by March 3 will be put on a warning list. RainRaven (Domon-mun) here. This is really awkward since the last message on this comm is me getting back from hiatus, but I'm going to be taking a short hiatus lasting no more than another week. I've gotten sick, and my body isn't kicking this as fast as I'd hoped. So can't really focus on tags very well right now. I'm really sorry about this everyone, and I'll get back to tagging as soon as I can.
